Hoops & Handbells

We are excited to keep our bells ringing as we go from the baseball field to the basketball court! Join us center court at American Airlines Center as we perform the national anthem before a Dallas Mavericks’ game.

Repertoire

Each person is responsible for preparing and memorizing their position’s part of The Star-Spangled Banner in advance.

The Star-Spangled Banner | arr. John A. Behnke | AG36050

Pro Tip: Each ringer is typically responsible for two notes. Ringers will be required to carry their bells on and off of the court. No one choir/ensemble is expected to cover all of the notes.

Event T-Shirt

Rangers T-Shirt 2017Mockup

We all love a fun event t-shirt, and this event will be no exception!

RINGER Pro Tip: You will receive a free t-shirt at this event. The t-shirt will be your court access pass. Please make sure that the correct size is ordered for you. You can see your t-shirt size in your confirmation e-mail. If your size is wrong, please contact us before 5:00 pm on February 14, 2018. We will have no extra sizes on site to trade or purchase.

Schedule

Here is the tentative schedule for the day.

6:00 pm – Arena Doors Open/Ringer Check-In Opens (Inside American Airlines Center | Section 109)
6:25 pm – Check-In Closes (Inside American Airlines Center | Section 109)
6:30 pm – Move to Pre-Game Area/Anthem Rehearsal
7:10 pm – Transfer to Court/Sideline Area (No Restroom Access)
7:25 pm – Ring Anthem (Court)
7:35 pm – Return to Pre-Game Area

All ringers must be checked in with our event staff before 6:25 pm. Ringers who are late will not be allowed on the court to ring the national anthem. It is important to be on time as you will receive instructions and updates from the event staff and performance specific details from the conductor.

Pro Tip: There will be periods of standing on hard concrete/wood surfaces based on pre-game activities. Please arrive with soft-soled closed-toed closed-heeled shoes so you can get around as quickly and as safely as possible. Shoes that will scuff the court are not permitted.

There will be no time to return to vehicles, view other portions of the arena, or use the restrooms between the end of rehearsal and the performance time.

Registration

We have two ticket options for this event. We have secured a limited number of seats in 200 Level (Section 225 | Gold colored tier | Left side of map) and in 300 Level (Section 318 | Blue colored tier | Right side of map).

When ordering tickets through Area 9, please remember to use each individual’s name, preferred personal e-mail address, and personal mobile phone number.

Area 9 will mail you your game ticket(s) prior to the event; you will receive an e-mail when your game ticket(s) have been mailed.

Due to portions of the arena’s layout, this event is not recommended for ringers with mobility issues.

Remember that Family & Friends tickets do not have court access rights. The Mavericks’ box office is unable to grant you access to the court as part of this event. Court access for ringers is controlled by Area 9 and the security team at American Airlines Center.

Ringers under 18 must have a parent, legal guardian, or chaperone accompany them to the designated meeting location (Section 109) prior to rehearsal. Parents, legal guardians, and chaperones must have their own ticket to enter the arena. Parents, legal guardians, and chaperones are not permitted in rehearsal, pre-game, or performance areas unless they are registered as a ringer.

All registrations are final once completed. No refunds will be issued.

Pro Tip: Have a spreadsheet with each ticketholder’s name, preferred e-mail address, mobile phone number, HMA membership number, t-shirt size, and ringing position. This will help you complete large group registrations like a champ!

Check In

Our event staff members will have your free event t-shirt waiting for you at our designated meeting location (Section 109) inside the arena. Remember to bring your arena entry ticket that was mailed to you since check-in is inside the arena for this event.

Those with Family & Friends arena entry tickets can head straight to their seats or browse through the gift shops while we rehearse.

Pro Tip: Make sure that you or your group’s leader orders the correct size t-shirt as we will have no extra t-shirts on site.
